Before becoming a mental health therapist, I was a special education teacher in middle and high schools for 12 years, so I bring a varied background into my practice and am very familiar with the adolescent population. I have also worked with residential substance abuse and residential sex offenders populations, as well as gifted and talented, general education and a variety of special needs adolescents and adults at many different levels of functionality. I have also spent the last two years working with the adult populations providing many different types of services, from individual therapy, partial hospitalization group therapy, as an intake counselor, and in many volunteer programs as a counselor and in parenting groups and classes.I have a bachelors degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.
I believe everyone has the potential within them to live their life free of emotional pain and fear, it takes a lot of courage to come to counseling, tell your story, and trust that you will be helped and not judged. I value the trust you place in me very highly and honor the effort it takes for you to seek help. Together, you and I will find what needs to be found to get you where you want to be in your life. Whether you come to me for individual counseling, group counseling, or both, you will be respected, listened to, and helped to be who you want to be.
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and the phone number for my practice is 850-354-9159.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Feel free to call me for more information, to find out about groups for adolescents or adults, and/or to set up an appointment. Hope to see you soon!
